About me
Hi, I’m Todor (Tosh),
I’m 25 years old and I’ve always had a passion for music and art.
Originally, I come from Burgas, Bulgaria, however, I’m currently based in South West London.
I’ve been drumming for 16 years and counting, always looking to broaden my horizons.
My career started in my hometown, where I attended the National School of Music and Stage Arts. There I had my first piano lesson at the age of 5 but moved on to drums when I was 10.
During my early years, I learned to play all kinds of percussion instruments such as marimba, vibraphone, xylophone, and timpani. I also studied music theory, harmonies, and classical piano and I got to play with the school’s brass orchestra and ensembles on local public and school events.
All this experience gave me a solid musical background and taught me skills that I still use to this day.
I started performing on local events with my heavy metal influenced band when I was 15 and I played the drums for a musical in Burgas’ drama theatre when I was 16, however, there was still so much for me to learn. So I made the decision and In 2014 I moved to London to continue my studies and to find like-minded musicians.
I did a 4 year-long popular music course at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute-BIMM (formerly known as Drum Tech).
There I was taught by some of the best industry professionals such as Erik Stams, Patrick Davey, Elliott Henshaw, Simon Carter, and Yolanda Charles.
I also attended masterclasses hosted by some of the world’s finest drummers such as Jojo Mayer, Steve Jordan, Keith Carlock, and Aron Spears which had a massive effect on my musical development and style.
While I was a student in BIMM I started attending jam sessions and I had the luck to meet and play with some great professional musicians. Before I knew it, I was already performing weekly in London and in other UK towns.
My musical taste changed a lot during that time too - I got more into funk, jazz, neo-soul, and fusion which helped me become more versatile and aware of the music I’m performing.
I also started playing modern pop, drum and bass, and hip-hop/grime, so using sampling pads and spd-sx is not new to me.
Since I graduated in 2018, I've been the main drummer of Lulalong (indie rock), CHA:DY (neo-soul), BrokenPen (grime HipHop), and Kat (rock)
Apart from that, I do function gigs in different genres and I record and tour with different artists from the UK and Europe as a session player.
Apart from that In 2021, I became the principal of the Little Rockers course for kids aged 5-8 in the British School of Rock.
I also started my own tuition business back in 2016 which had great success and it's now providing quality tuition for more than 20 students on weekly basis.
My own tuition and recording studio is located near Acton Town and it's professionally equipped with some of the best drumming gear available on the market.
I play Mapex Drums with Vater Drumsticks and I'm endorsed by Turco Cymbals (hand made in Turkey)
Overall, I’m deeply invested in what I do, I’m always seeking new musical challenges to improve and expand my skills, and pass the knowledge on.
